Lizzie Schiffman is a print and multimedia journalist currently living and working in Chicago, IL. Her work has been featured in The Chicago Reporter, Politics Daily, Schmooze Magazine, Popular Science, Talking Points Memo and on Chicago Public Radio’s Eight Forty-Eight.
Lizzie was named Illinois’ Free Spirit Scholar by the Freedom Forum in 2007. She has received the SPJ Mark of Excellence for two Radio Features, Blue Ribbons from the NISPA for individual in-depth news writing, team in-depth news writing and graphic design, and was nominated for a Hearst Journalism award for audio storytelling. She was awarded the Lehman Scholarship for Journalism Excellence and a Ben Baldwin grant for her work as a mobile journalist in Washington, D.C. Her research at The Chicago Reporter earned the package a Peter Lisagor Award nomination.
Lizzie has a Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, where she graduated cum laude.
